On September 25th, 2007, we had our second challenge. Groups of two or three students had to build a bridge made out of 50 toothpicks, Elmers glue, and one sheet of paper. Our bridges had to be 5 inches long (at least) and the goal of the challenge was to build the strongest bridge -- the one that would hold the most weight. On September 27th, we hung weights off the bridges. First we put them across a gap between two desks and then we starting putting on the weights to see how many they could hold. Most bridges broke quickly, but one (Mia's and Olivia's) held 8 weights! It was a great challenge. Team ........ Number of Weights Held See our creations by clicking here. |
